Watercolor on Shimmery White

Have I mentioned that I love watercolor?  This is such a fun card to make.  Endless combos possible.

Start with a base card of Whisper White Thick, my favorite base layer now!  Cut a panel from Shimmery White Card Stock.  Shimmery White is great for watercolor and offers the shimmer and a little contrast to the stark white of the base.

I used my Aquapainter to add the watercolor wash, I think I used Pacific Point and added just a touch of Blushing Bride.  Then with my fingers I flicked some water to get the water spots.  Then used the Gold Wink of Stella to splatter the card a little with just a little more shimmer.

I stamped the thank you greeting from One Big Meaning in Memento Tuxedo Black.

The leaf is cut from a scrap of Basic Black using the Flourish Thinlits. I only put glue on the spine of the leaf and I lifted the edges a bit off the card for some dimension.

The finishing touch are some sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment

I'll be using this basic layout for many more cards!  I think a happy birthday one is in order.

Simple Thank You & Retiring Product

Before I show you my simple thank you card I want to remind you that Stampin' Up! recently announced their retiring product.  You can see the lists here.  These products go quickly.

Now, here is my simple thank you.   I used one of the texture stamps from Timeless Textures.  Stamped it straight edge up, and again straight edge down leaving a little white space in the middle for the thank you from One Big Meaning.  I inked the texture stamp with Watermelon Wonder, stamping off once.  Stamped it onto Shimmery White.  Watermelon Wonder Ink Pad is still available while supplies last.  Be sure to pick up the refill too -- very low inventory on that.

I stamped the greeting in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

I added a few rhinestones and layered the Shimmery White layer onto a Whisper White Thick card.

The hardest thing about this card was lining up the two texture images.  I usually eyeball pretty accurately but I had to use my Stamp-a-ma-jig and that made it so much easier.

Pretty Paisleys Thank you Trio

The new Pretty Paisleys Embossing Folder in the Holiday Catalog is perfect for simple but elegant cards.  I used it to frame the thank you greeting from One Big Meaning.  I even used the embossing folder to emboss the envelopes -- I just used my bone folder to carefully take the envelope apart so I could emboss just the front.

I think my favorite version is the one I added a touch of color to the raised embossing.  I used Stampin' Write Markers in Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride and a touch of Rose Red.  You could just as easily use a Blender Pen.

The exclamation point cried out to me for a Rhinestone dot so I added one to each card.

On one of the cards I cut out the embossed frame and used dimensionals to elevate it a little off the page.  This card is mounted onto Basic Black so I lined it with a Whisper White layer.  I wanted a little something but didn't want it to be a stamped image so I used the line and dot die from the Detailed Santa Thinlet.  It was just the right touch!

Quick Easy Elegant Thank You

Can you ever have enough thank you cards on hand?  I always take a couple with me when I travel. This one uses a portion of the Bloomin' Heart Thinlits and Crumb Cake Card Stock.  I love the tone on tone look it gives. The greeting is from One Big Meaning and stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Clear Wink of Stella adds a little shimmer to the layered flowers.  I added a few Pearl Basic Jewels.  I'm thinking the next one like this I make I won't use dimensionals to pop up the flowers.

Tip:  Stampin' Up! states the Precision Base Plate is required for the Bloomin' Heart Thinlit and other detailed thinlits.  I find that it helps to run the die through twice and using the Die Brush really helps get all the little pieces out
