Bee Thankful

It's a conundrum, create with a favorite set that is retiring soon or create with one of my preorder sets from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.  Today the retiring soon set won.  I love the Honey Bee Bundle from the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog...that bee in the Detailed Bee Dies is to die for (pun intended).

This card couldn't be simpler, die cut the bee from Gold Foil Sheets. On a 4"x5.25" Whisper White panel, stamp the leaf images in Pear Pizazz, overlapping the end of the stem just a little - though I realize now that the ends are covered so my precision placement is lost.

Stamp the greeting with Versamark, use the Heat Tool to heat emboss with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.  Die cut the greeting with the smallest die in the Stitched So Sweetly dies (not retiring!) It's like the greeting was made for the die.

I couldn't stop there and added a little Wink of Stella to the flowers on the leaf garlands.

The bee is mounted using Mini Glue Dots, the greeting is mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The panel is mounted to an A2 size card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Delicate Lace Thank You Card and a Little Sneak Peek

I'm back!  Starting to play with all the "new" product that has been waiting for me for weeks!  When I ordered the Delicate Lace dies I pictured using the die like this!  It makes such a gorgeous edge!

My card base is Whisper White Thick.  I added a layer using Purple Posey, one of the new In Colors, adding texture to the layer by embossing it with the Subtle 3D embossing folder.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the Delicate Lace panel.

The frame that I die cut is the sneak peak -- it is a die set from a Halloween Suite -- Ornate Frames.  I stamped in Basic Gray Ink the "Thanks" greeting from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set.  I used dies from several sets to place behind the greeting --Botanical Tags, Frosted Bouquet, and Lovely Flowers.  If you don't want (insert shocked gasp) to purchase, or don't already have all those you could use Frosted Bouquet exclusively and get a very similar look.  The leaves are die cut from Soft Sea Foam card stock.  I used some threads from a deconstructed piece of Metallic Edge Ribbon wrapped and tucked behind the leaves and greeting panel.

Finished it off by adding a few Pearl Basic Jewels and colored the little flowers with Wink of Stella -- it's all in the details!

It was so much fun putting this card together!  Really made me happy, and it's cheaper than therapy!

Varied Vases Thank You and July Specials

So much to share for the month of July.  I'll start with this card that I'm using to include with the new 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! catalog.  After traveling for a couple of months I finally have my supply of catalogs and am getting them to my customers.

Faux Watercolor Thank You + Sale-a-bration Second Release

Did you hear?  There is a second release of Sale-a-bration items available now.  I absolutely love the set Eclectic Expressions.  You can get it free with a $50 product order!  My "faux watercolor" is made using this new set.

I started with a panel of Shimmery White and stamped the larger watercolor splotch repeatedly with Sugar Plum, Fresh Fig and Berry Burst.  On a scrap piece of Shimmery White I stamped the same colors using the smaller splotch.  I used the scattered dots, stamping in Fresh Fig over the top of both stamping several times without re-inking.  The greeting is stamped in Basic Black and is die cut using my Big Shot and the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies.  The following image shows all the stamps in the set.

I used my Aqua Painter to smudge or define some of the edges of the stamped images. The base card is Fresh Fig Card Stock. The "watercolored" panel is mounted to a layer of Basic Black Card Stock with just a 1/16" border showing.

The die cut layer is mounted using Stampin' Dimensionals, tucking some messy loops of Basic Black Metallic Thread behind it.

It's finished off with a few Basic Rhinestone Jewels.

Waterfront Birthday -- a little bit of paradise

I have been MIA, I hope you have noticed.  So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Just before Christmas I got the flu (in spite of a flu shot) and is taking me so long to feel better. I'm still congested and coughing.  Yikes -- it was a bad one! I got my new product from the Occasions Catalog and some free Sale-a-bration sets (as a demonstrator I get to order a few weeks early) and couldn't even play!  Well, I finally got to play with what I think is my one of my "new favorite" stamp set -- Waterfront.  I was inspired by another card I saw, but can't find that one.

The set has stamps that allow you to create a scene.  I used them and filled in, and softened some transitions with my aqua painter.

I used the Seaside Embossing Folder to create the "waves" on the one layer.  The circle was cut using largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies

Watercolor on Shimmery White

Have I mentioned that I love watercolor?  This is such a fun card to make.  Endless combos possible.

Start with a base card of Whisper White Thick, my favorite base layer now!  Cut a panel from Shimmery White Card Stock.  Shimmery White is great for watercolor and offers the shimmer and a little contrast to the stark white of the base.

I used my Aquapainter to add the watercolor wash, I think I used Pacific Point and added just a touch of Blushing Bride.  Then with my fingers I flicked some water to get the water spots.  Then used the Gold Wink of Stella to splatter the card a little with just a little more shimmer.

I stamped the thank you greeting from One Big Meaning in Memento Tuxedo Black.

The leaf is cut from a scrap of Basic Black using the Flourish Thinlits. I only put glue on the spine of the leaf and I lifted the edges a bit off the card for some dimension.

The finishing touch are some sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment

I'll be using this basic layout for many more cards!  I think a happy birthday one is in order.

Simple Thank You & Retiring Product

Before I show you my simple thank you card I want to remind you that Stampin' Up! recently announced their retiring product.  You can see the lists here.  These products go quickly.

Now, here is my simple thank you.   I used one of the texture stamps from Timeless Textures.  Stamped it straight edge up, and again straight edge down leaving a little white space in the middle for the thank you from One Big Meaning.  I inked the texture stamp with Watermelon Wonder, stamping off once.  Stamped it onto Shimmery White.  Watermelon Wonder Ink Pad is still available while supplies last.  Be sure to pick up the refill too -- very low inventory on that.

I stamped the greeting in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

I added a few rhinestones and layered the Shimmery White layer onto a Whisper White Thick card.

The hardest thing about this card was lining up the two texture images.  I usually eyeball pretty accurately but I had to use my Stamp-a-ma-jig and that made it so much easier.

Thank You Sale-a-bration!

I needed a few thank you notes quick.  I reached for the bold Thank You from the Sale-a-bration set So Very Much.  You can't buy it, but you can get it free with a $50 Stampin' Up! product purchase.

I started with a panel of Shimmery White and stamped the "splat" from Happy Celebrations, from the new Occasions 2017 catalog, with Calypso Coral, then without re-inking I stamped it again and yet again for the ombre effect.  The Thank You was stamped over that in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

I added a few White Perfect Accents.  They are flatter than pearls so mail better.  Added the panel to a layer of Calypso Coral then put that onto a base of Whisper White.

Wish you could see the shimmer of the paper!  You can have several of these cards made in no time at all!

Fall Thank You Card

Fall is such a beautiful time of year and my inspiration for this card.

It's a simple layout but I love it.  Crumb Cake base, Very Vanilla layer.  

The oak leaf from the Vintage Leaves set was stamped on Chocolate Chip card stock with Versamark then embossed with that yummy Copper Embossing Powder.  I used the coordinating Leaflet Framelits to quickly die cut it.

I stamped the banner from Thoughtful Banners in Chocolate Chip and the "thank you" from the same set in Early Espresso.  It comes in a bundle which includes the Duet Banner Punch to make cutting that banner so fast!  Mounted the banner with a Dimensional in the center

I added some loops of Copper Metallic Thread behind the banner.  I stamped some splatter in Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron on the vanilla layer.

Sheltering Tree & Masked Fall Maple Leaf Card

This card is a variation on a card that my sister made, and she got the idea from another Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, who may have been inspired by another talented stamper.  Whoever was the first to do this was brilliant!

It is stunning and so simple.  It can be used for so many occasions – it's a great guy card, appropriate for a sympathy card, and perfect for a Fall thank you or birthday.

Start by cutting the maple leaf shape from any piece of paper.  This will be the "mask" – mine was the same size as the Very Vanilla layer.  Place the mask over the Very Vanilla card stock, using Sponge Daubers apply ink direct to paper.  I used Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie. Then Chocolate Chip was "daubered" just onto the edges.  I didn't color the stem of the leaf.

Grab your Embossing Buddy and rub it over the inked area to make sure no embossing powder sticks where you don't want it.  Use the tree from the Sheltering Tree stamp set, inking it up with Versamark then embossing with Copper Embossing Powder.  

I stamped the ground ('cause I don't want the tree floating in midair) in Crumb Cake using the ground stamp in Number of Years but you could watercolor or used the one in the Sheltering Tree set.  I stamped a few leaves at the base of the tree using the tiny leaves stamp from Totally Trees.

I tied on some gold ribbon from the Ribbon Trio Pack and tucked some loops of Copper Metallic Thread behind the knot.

Layer the Very Vanilla layer onto Copper Foil and finally onto an Early Espresso card.

Paisley Birthday Card

The Paisleys & Posies Bundle in the Holiday Catalog was THE first thing I wanted to order so it was fun to get it out an play with it again today!   

Night of Navy and Whisper White is a combo that makes me happy!  With no layout in mind I stamped and die cut several of the images and just started playing.  I had a pleasing arrangement of paisley elements but need a greeting.  I thought a banner would be just perfect – so I used Birthday Banners and it has a coordinating framelit, Bunch of Banners,  so no fussy cutting!

The base of the card is Night of Navy.  I added a strip of Floral Boutique Washi Tape just above the bottom edge of the Whisper White layer.  The banner was stamped in Night of Navy, the greeting in Basic Black and is mounted with dimensionals.  I used a double thickness in the center, and just glue dots on the out ends.  I added quite a few rhinestones.  The "leaves" behind the round element are scraps from the leaf like element in the Paisley Framelits.

The flower in the lower right corner I cut twice, once from Night of Navy and another from Silver Glimmer Paper -- I filled in the center of the navy flower with a piece of the silver.
