Here are some alternate ideas you could choose to do with the kit.  I love the color combination!

Thanksgiving Turkey Card

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I wanted to share this card I sent to my Grandsons.  I don't often use retired product but I just had to use the feathers.

The body is from the Owl Builder Punch.  I just trimmed off the top, added some googlie eyes and cut a beak, tucked a red punched flower behind it.

Before I adhered the turkey onto the Very Vanilla layer I stamped some elements from Gorgeous Grunge.  Layered that on to Cajun Craze card stock and used Very Vanilla for the card base.

The feathers are Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry.  The body is Chocolate Chip.

Don't forget to check out all the awesome products on sale through November 28.  Click here to see the entire list.

Thanks for looking!  Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving

Heat Embossing with Delicate Ornament Thinlits

I saw this technique and had to try it!  Rather than cutting with the Delicate Ornament Thinlit I applied Versamark to the thinlit and embossed.  I love it!  Scroll down to see an awkward angle photo so I could get the shimmer

Set up your big shot as if you were going to use an embossing folder.  In place of a bottom cutting mat use a couple sheets of fun foam. Add your paper,  carefully apply Versamark to the thinlet and place it on your paper being careful not to move it at all.  Place a cutting mat on top and run it through the Big Shot.  Carefully remove the die and apply the embossing powder.  Brush off any stray specks with a small paintbrush.  Heat emboss.  It's such a delicate look

I highlighted with Smoky Slate ink with an Aquapainter then Clear Wink of Stella over that.  I used the Pine Bough embossing folder for the branch. Added some Silver Metallic Thread to make it look like the ornament was hanging.  Finished it off with a rhinestone and a bow made from 1/8" Smoky Slate Stitched Ribbon.

This is the only angle I could get the shimmer to show.  My base card is Whisper White Thick.  I used Silver Glimmer Paper behind my top layer.  So much prettier IRL!

4" Paper Mache Letters Christmas Joy

I have been decorating paper mache letters for every season and occasion for some time.  I was so excited to find these small 4" letters!  I knew that they would be perfect for a hostess gift.

I started by tracing the letter onto This Christmas Designer Series Paper and Red Glimmer Paper then paint the letters with acrylic paint.  While the letters are drying I cut out the paper letters.  I used Tomorrow Multipurpose Adhesive to adhere the paper.  I applied a little Soft Suede ink to the edges with a sponge dauber, it hides the white core of the paper a little.

Embellish as little or as much as you would like.  I used ribbon, charms, rhinestones, fussy cut pieces of Designer Series Paper, and a star cut from the Star of Light Framelits

Have fun making your own letters!

Pretty in Pink Happy Birthday

I was challenged to make a card using Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Blushing Bride & Watermelon Wonder.  Here is what I came up with.

The pink ink behind the word happy is Blushing Bride applied to the Very Vanilla layer with the sponge brayer.  It was actually the first time I'd used the brayer and I really liked it.

I cut "a bunch" of flower and leaf elements from the Botanical Builder Framelits using Blushing Bride and Watermelon Wonder Card Stock.  I cut the word "happy" from the Hello You Thinlits using Early Espresso Card Stock.  Used Tombow Adhesive to arrange the leaves, flowers and word.

I added some Rhinestones to the flower centers, stamped "birthday", from Number of Years, in Watermelon Wonder Ink then immediately sprinkled Clear Embossing powder on it and embossed it.  You have to be quick or the ink dries and won't emboss.

The base card is Very Vanilla with an Early Espresso layer between the base and top layer. This is a simple card that makes a big impact. I leave the edges of the flowers and leaves unglued to give more dimension to the cards, but it still mails nicely.

Thank you for looking!  All the products I used can be purchased through my Online Store.  If you order be certain to use the November Host Code XBXTGGM2 for orders less than $150 in product.  A $150 order qualifies for FREE product!

Framed Collage

Last night I attended a fabulous Christmas Party with fellow demonstrators.  This is what I took for the gift exchange.

I started with a frame designed for a shadow box, though you could use any frame, just leave the glass out.  I started by cutting squares of Silver Glimmer Paper to fill my space then started cutting dozens of elements  from Whisper White, Shimmery White and Silver Metallic Paper.

Here is the project without the glass.  I knew I wanted the center image to be the sheet music from the This Christmas Designer Series Paper so I worked out from there.

So while the gift was fun to make it was supposed to be "all about the wrapping".  Here is the picture of the wrapping.  I only snapped this 1 picture  -- what was I thinking?

I made a box – Real Red base, Whisper White top.  I used some Candy Cane Lane Washi tape for the ribbon then made some poinsettias with the Festive Flower Builder Punch.  Added some leaves and pinecones cut using the Pretty Pines Thinlits.  Tucked in some strings of Whisper White Mini PomPoms.  It's hard to tell from the photo but the word "merry" (cut from Christmas Greetings Thinlits) was mounted onto a strip of window sheet so it floats above the flowers.  Finished the box off with Rhinestones scattered over it.

It was such fun to create this.  I hope I have inspired you to try your own framed art and packing!  I'd love to be your demonstrator.  Order all these supplies from my online store.  Be sure to use the November Host Code XBXTGGM2 when placing your order.  If your order is $150 don't use the code – you will automatically qualify for hostess benefits.

Fall Thank You Card

Fall is such a beautiful time of year and my inspiration for this card.

It's a simple layout but I love it.  Crumb Cake base, Very Vanilla layer.

The oak leaf from the Vintage Leaves set was stamped on Chocolate Chip card stock with Versamark then embossed with that yummy Copper Embossing Powder.  I used the coordinating Leaflet Framelits to quickly die cut it.

I stamped the banner from Thoughtful Banners in Chocolate Chip and the "thank you" from the same set in Early Espresso.  It comes in a bundle which includes the Duet Banner Punch to make cutting that banner so fast!  Mounted the banner with a Dimensional in the center

I added some loops of Copper Metallic Thread behind the banner.  I stamped some splatter in Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron on the vanilla layer.

Hope I've inspired you to make a card!  Thanks for checking out my blog.

White Christmas Card

I missed a few days of blogging – it's good to be back!  Today I have a Christmas card in shades of white.  Have I mentioned my love for white on white?  I also got to try out the new Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I love them and know you will too!

While this is mostly Whisper White, I used a Vellum strip punched with the Confetti Stars Punch which adds a little contrast and some texture.  I stamped the snowflake dots from Merriest Wishes  using Versamark and embossed them with Whisper White Embossing Powder and finally die cut it with the largest stitched square framelit from the Stitched Shapes.

The tree is Shimmery White Card Stock and die cut from the Santa's Sleigh Framelits, mounted with Dimensionals.  I put a tiny star at the top of the tree.  The star was punched from the Confetti Stars Punch from Silver Glimmer Paper.

I stamped the wreath image from Santa's Sleigh and embossed it with Silver.  Die cut it and mounted it onto another circle that was cut from the smallest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Not sure I love this element, I'm thinking it should have been a greeting. What do you think?  It was also mounted with Dimensionals.

Thanks for checking out my blog!
