Happy Birthday in Copper & Pink

I needed a special birthday card for a friend who was celebrating a milestone birthday.  I remembered seeing a spectacular card posted by a fellow demonstrator and knew I needed to put my own twist on it. I love how it turned out and I got to use what might turn out to be my new favorite accessory – the 1/4" Copper Trim.  That ribbon is just yummy, you can stretch and shape it, showing off the loose weave mesh.  Here it my masterpiece!

This card is very dimensional so hand delivery was in order.

The Happy Birthday Thinlit was used to cut the greeting from Copper Foil Paper, to make it pop a little more I put a Basic Black die cut behind it, offsetting it just a bit.

The flowers are punched from the new Daisy Punch.  I spritzed them with water and scrunched and pinched them til I got the effect I wanted.  I layered two together and used Gold Faceted Gems for the centers. Thanks to fellow demonstrator, Monica Gale from the UK, for her gorgeous card that inspired me.

I was lucky enough to meet the uber talented Monica at a Stampin' Up! Convention a few years ago.  We had each made earrings from SU embellishments.  We decided to swap earrings right then and there.  Here is a photo of us wearing each others earrings.  That is Monica on the left

Here are the other products I used:

Powder Pink Card Stock for the square card base, 5" square I believe

The twigs were also cut from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits, I used Basic Black Card Stock

Copper Metallic Thread was looped and tucked behind the flowers

I hope you have as much fun making this card as I did, but the real joy is giving it away!  You can order all the supplies from my online shop. Be sure to use my August host code, MPKNGB22, when placing your order.  No need to use it if your order is $150 or more as you qualify for free product without it! Tree Rings Birthday Card

Cards for guys are not always the easiest for me but the Tree Rings Background inspired me to create a simple card highlighting the stamp.

I used the two largest circles from the Layering Circle Framelits to create the Basic Black Card Stock ring which I placed over a circle of Vellum.  I stamped the greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The greeting is from a wonderful masculine set, Guy Greetings.  I love that it comes in traditional red rubber and wood, clear mount and photopolymer!

I stamped the image in Early Espresso Ink onto Very Vanilla Card Stock and used Soft Suede Ink and a Sponge Dauber to add some color to some of the rings

You will have so much fun with this background!  Order all the supplies from my online store.  Be sure to use my August Host Code, MPKNGB22, when you place your order.  If you order $150 or more you need not use the code as you qualify for free product!
