Faux Watercolor Thank You + Sale-a-bration Second Release

Did you hear?  There is a second release of Sale-a-bration items available now.  I absolutely love the set Eclectic Expressions.  You can get it free with a $50 product order!  My "faux watercolor" is made using this new set.

I started with a panel of Shimmery White and stamped the larger watercolor splotch repeatedly with Sugar Plum, Fresh Fig and Berry Burst.  On a scrap piece of Shimmery White I stamped the same colors using the smaller splotch.  I used the scattered dots, stamping in Fresh Fig over the top of both stamping several times without re-inking.  The greeting is stamped in Basic Black and is die cut using my Big Shot and the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies.  The following image shows all the stamps in the set.

I used my Aqua Painter to smudge or define some of the edges of the stamped images. The base card is Fresh Fig Card Stock. The "watercolored" panel is mounted to a layer of Basic Black Card Stock with just a 1/16" border showing.

The die cut layer is mounted using Stampin' Dimensionals, tucking some messy loops of Basic Black Metallic Thread behind it.

It's finished off with a few Basic Rhinestone Jewels

I would love for you to choose to order your Stampin' Up! supplies through me.  You can get the supplies for this card from my online store 24/7!  Don't forget to use my February Host Code, HZTEG7F6, when placing your order (no need to use it if your order is $150 or more 'cause you will get hostess benefits).  It's Sale-a-bration time so you get to choose one of the free items from with every $50 in product you order.
Thank you for looking! I think you will love the Eclectic Expressions set.

Panda Valentines with Brusho Hearts

Happy Valentine's Day!  I made these simple cards for my grandsons.  The pandas are from the Sale-a-bration set Party Pandas, you can choose free with a $50 product order.  The hearts are Watercolor Paper spritzed with water then sprinkled with the new Brusho watercolor ink crystals and used my Aquapainter to move it around until I was pleased.  I used the Sweet and Sassy Framelits Dies to cut the hearts.

The background scatter stamp is from the Sale-a-bration second release set Eclectic Expressions.  It, too, will be free with a $50 product order starting February 16. I got a little carried away with it on one card so I over compensated and used it sparingly on the other.  The balloon is cut from a scrap of Brusho watercolored paper using the same Sweet and Sassy Framelits.

The pandas were stamped on Whisper White using Basic Black ink, they were fussy cut and I used Dimensionals to pop them off the hearts. Oh, and I used my Clear Wink of Stella pen on the white parts of the pandas  Finished the cards off with a few Basic Rhinestone Jewels.

I stamped the greeting inside using the fun set Labeler Alphabet -- it is such a fun set to use and I think my grandsons will like it more than a pretty script greeting.

Sure Do Love You Valentine in Crumb Cake

I send Valentine's Day cards to my nephews so I needed something masculine and simple.  I reached for the Sure Do Love You Bundle in the Occasions 2018 catalog and Crumb Cake and Early Espresso – I love the outcome.

This was the only heart set I ordered from the Occasions catalog, but I LOVE the striped heart in the Heart Happiness set so I tried adding my own stripes to the heart image in the Sure Do Love You Set.   I didn't think it looked that great at first, but once I cut it and added it to the card I really like it!  Which do you like better -- stripes or no stripes? I'd love you to comment on that!

Card base and top are Crumb Cake Card Stock with a layer of Early Espresso between. The heart and banner are stamped in Crumb Cake ink onto Very Vanilla Card Stock.  The larger leafy heart border is stamped in Early Espresso. I used a Soft Suede Marker direct to the inked heart before stamping. The heart image is popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals.  I also add a single Dimensional to the center of banner, but only used Fast Fuse on the ends.  That gives even more dimension to the card. I couldn't resist adding a single Basic Rhinestone Jewel to the heart.

I always tuck a Starbucks gift card into these cards and the Lots to Love Box Framelits set in this bundle gave me an idea.  There are two little pieces that are (I think) to be used to make a spot to pull a card from an envelope.   See those two little pieces in the bottom left corner?

Well, I thought they would be great to add tabs to hold a card.  IT WORKED!  Yay me. Here is how I did it.  First lightly mark with a pencil the outer edges of the card like this:

Then I placed those two dies (using a ruler to align them precisely) along the pencil marks and used washi tape to hold them in place.

Ran them through my trusty Big Shot and voila the card is held in place by the half circle tabs! Don't forget to erase the pencil marks.

Winter White Birthday

This was one of my favorite cards I made and I forgot to post it!  It was for a friends birthday and I wanted to wait until after she received it, then plum forgot!

I love creating with shades of white, my favorite combo is Whisper White and Shimmery White, but for this card the Shimmery White did not give me quite enough contrast so I used Very Vanilla and I love it?  Move over Shimmery White?  Absolutely not.

I used the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies.  I am so excited that this die set was not retired!  It is is being carried over so you can still get it along with some other favorites that are now in the Holiday Favorites category.  It is listed as being available only until May 31 though,  Don't miss this one.  Look at all the beautiful detail.

My Big Shot makes this stunning card come together so fast!  I used the Softly Falling Embossing Folder for the Whisper White Card Stock background.  The detailed snowflakes were cut using the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies.  The scalloped outline was cut using the same dies but I used Very Vanilla Card Stock.  I stamped the greeting using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  The greeting is from the set Dragonfly Dreams.

Thank you for looking!  I would love for you to order your Stampin' Up! product through me and be your source for all things Stampin' Up!  My online store is open 24/7!  Be sure to use my February host code, HZTEG7F6, when placing your order.  Orders of $150 qualify for host benefits so no need to use a code.
