The new Happy Birthday Thinlet has been sitting by my BigShot just waiting to be pressed into service. Oh....my.....word! I love it and can't believe it took me so long to try it. I had an idea in my head for a card to try and it turned out okay. I'll post that one in a few days. But I got to thinking about how I could frame the die cut greeting. Circles and squares didn't work, nor did the oval. But the largest die from the Lots of Labels Framelits is perfect!
I love how it looks like the greeting and the background are one piece!
While I love clean and simple cards I tend to do card that are a little more feminine. But this guy card was easy to do with the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. This DSP is a 6" square stack, I cut a piece in half and it just fits behind the framelit cutout. I used a layer of Sahara Sand, using a Sponge Dauber to color the edges a bit with Soft Suede Ink
I will say that the easiest way to adhere this greeting is to apply some of the new Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to card stock before cutting! But a careful application of "green glue" (aka Multipurpose Liquid Glue) or the Fine-Tip Glue Pen work well too.
I felt that it needed just a little something so I added Clear Faceted Gems. They're not too sparkly are they?
So that card came together so quickly I had time to make another card using the same idea. This one is Whisper White on Lemon Lime Twist, using the White Perfect Accents.
I'm going to make up several of these to have on hand!
