Winter Branch Christmas Card

Just a little over a week until Christmas.  We had our first snow last night.  Only a 1/2" but it looks so pretty. Are you ready for Christmas?  I'm getting there.  The stockings are hung*, the tree is decorated, some presents are wrapped.  3 weeks ago I thought to myself "I think I'm on schedule", but I think I miscalculated.  There is so much yet to be done.  I have a few more gifts to purchase and wrap and a few Christmas cards to make.  This card is one of my favorites.

I absolutely adore this branch from the Colorful Seasons Bundle.  I die cut it in Whisper White and Early Espresso and layered them for a shadow effect.  In retrospect I might have had the "shadow" below the branch to make it look like a snow covered branch.

I used the Stitched Frame Framelits to make this rectangle.  A rectangle you say?  Yes!  I tried a technique to make a rectangle from a square die.  It is done by cutting the die part way.  Then you move the die, lining it up with the partial cut and complete the cutting.  Clear as mud? My goal is to start doing videos and when I do I can show you.

I used the Card Front Builder Thinlits to create the stars.  There is some Silver Glimmer paper behind the panel. I glued a few of the cut starts onto the card for a little dimension.

I added the single ornament hanging from the branch, using the ornament from the Chandelier Thinlits.  The ball is Red Glimmer Paper, the cap and hanger are Silver Foil Paper.

The Merry Christmas, part of the Flurry of Wishes set,  is stamped in Real Red.  3 Rhinestone Basic Jewels in the bottom right finish it off.  I love how it turned out

* I wanted to show you my FINISHED needlepoint Christmas stockings.  I have been working on them for years!  As my DIL and SIL and grandsons came along it took some searching to find canvases by the same designer in the same background design.  Then I had to find matching wool for the backgrounds – it wasn't made any longer.  I'm jumping for joy having these completed.

I hope you are enjoying all the wonder of Christmas.

You can order all the supplies to make the Christmas card from my online store.  I would sure appreciate you using my December Host Code for orders under $150.00  If you order $150 you qualify for Host Benefits and no code is needed.
Thank you for looking!

Merry Christmas

Year End Sales Event and a Christmas Card Too!

Can it be possible that the Holiday Catalog ordering period is almost over?  Stampin' Up! is offering some of the items at a discount.  Check it out!

I wanted to show you another Christmas card.  I love the Hometown Greetings Edgelits.  Right now you can still get them in a bundle with the Hearts Come Home stamp set.

It's a little hard to tell that I used the Champagne Foil Sheets for the background. and that is layered onto a panel of Very Vanilla.  The main card is Whisper White Thick embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.

I cut the rows of houses using the Edglits and Shimmery White Card Stock. I just trimmed the houses off their rows so I had individual buildings and trees.  I glued these to the foil panel using Tombow Multipurpose Glue (aka green glue).  The trees were adhered with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  Oh, the smaller tree that is on the right was cut from Whisper White so there is a little contrast to the Shimmery White.  If you follow my blog you know that  I love that combo!

I left some of the pieces in the windows, I kinda like the look but you can punch them all out easily with a favorite tool of mine, the Big Shot Die Brush.  If you use your Big Shot a lot you NEED this tool.  Lastly I stamped Merry Christmas using a stamp from Santa's Sleigh, I used Basic Gray ink

Thanks for looking!  I'd love you to shop with me.  You can get all the supplies for this card and anything Stampin' Up! from my online store.  When you order be sure to use my December Host Code, AHJNNJRV, when you place your order of $149.99 or less.  If your order is $150 or more you do not need to use this code -- you will qualify for free product!

Merry & White Christmas Card

Sometimes you don't have to use a Christmas themed stamp set to make a Christmas themed card.   I sat down to make a card for a friend and pulled Hello Friend off the shelf.  Christmas is on my mind and the wreath on this one jumped out at me and I challenged myself to make a holiday card with it.  It was  not difficult!

I stamped the wreath in Crumb Cake onto a 3" square panel of Whisper White.  I used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write marker to add color to the "little dotty things" on the wreath. It's a subtle detail that made a big difference.

That panel was layered on to a Shimmery White layer that is just 1/8" bigger, using Stampin' Dimensionals.  I cut a Whisper White panel, 4 1/8" x 5 3/8, and ran it through my Big Shot using the Softly Falling embossing folder.  That panel is layered on to a Whisper White card base, 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2".  The wreath layers were adhered on the top of the embossed layer.

To finish it off I cut a 1/2" strip of Shimmery White and with Cherry Cobbler Ink I stamped the Merry & Bright greeting from Season to Sparkle, trimming the ends. Using my bone folder I added some shape and adhered it with a Mini Stampin' Dimensional.  I tied a bow with Real Red Mini Tinsel Trim and finally added 3 Rhinestone Jewels.

I am smitten with Whisper White on Shimmery White

Don't forget that tomorrow you can preorder your very own Stamparatus and be one of the first to have one!

All of these products can be ordered from my online shop be sure to use my November Host Code when placing your order. I'm happy to answer any questions you have about the this card or Stampin' Up! products.

Thanks for looking.

Happy Stampin'

Stampin' Blends Now Available

They are here!

The Stampin' Blends are now available to YOU!  Stampin' Blends are an alcohol based marker that blend beautifully and comes in Stampin' Up! exclusive colors.

Here is a short video about them

You can buy them one at a time, in a combo of light and dark or the whole shebang!

I don't have a "real" project yet to share using the "Blends", but as soon as I got them I played with them a little and loved them! I have very little experience with alcohol markers so I was surprised at how easily I could use them!

If you would like to try them you can order them from my online store.  If you do not already have a demonstrator I would love to earn your business.  Be sure to use the November Host Code, GT2X7GBA , if your order is under $150.  At $150 you begin earning free credit to spend on product so there is no need for the code.

Thank you for looking!  I hope you will share how the Stampin' Blends work for you!

Be Merry Watercolor Christmas Card

Here is the second of my 3 easy, mailable Christmas or holiday cards.  I particularly love this set, Every Good Wish, because the greetings are appropriate for Christmas or a more generic holiday card if you need that.  The main images give me that watercolor look that I love with just one step!

I used a panel of Whisper White Card Stock, embossing the one edge using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. The be merry image was stamped with Real Red ink.  My base card is Real Red Card Stock, and I added a layer of Cherry Cobbler behind the Whisper White.

When I added the 1/8” Sheer Ribbon in Whisper White I thought it still needed something so I used a narrow strip of Real Red behind the ribbon.

To keep it simple I have resisted adding shimmer, or pearls or rhinestones.  No easy task for me.

I hope this idea helps you get a jump on your Christmas cards!

Thanks for looking! I hope you will contact me if you have any questions.

All of these supplies can be purchased here from my onlinestore.  I would love to earn your business. Be sure to enter the October Host Code, SKYPQPPJ, when you order product totaling less than $150.  You qualify for free product when you order $150 or more so the Host Code isn’t needed in that instance.  While you are there you should check the Clearance Rack for some great bargains.
