Colorful Seasons Fall Card in Mixed Metals

Don't you just love the mixed metal look?  It is on trend right now and is the perfect combination for a Fall card and I can't wait to use it on other projects! For this card I used the Colorful Seasons Bundle.

This is one of my favorite layouts and for whatever reason it's a college style that actually works for me.

This leaf is gorgeous if I do say so myself!

Supplies

Paper – Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Copper Foil, Champagne Foil Sheets
Ink – Soft Suede, Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories – Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Linen Thread, Copper Trim, Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape, Metallic Sequins Assortment, Stampin' Dimensionals, Tombow Adhesive

How I did it

Card base Soft Suede 4 1/4x11 scored at 5 1/2
Top layer Very Vanilla 4"x5.1/4"
Middle layer Cajun Craze 4 1/8" x 5 3/8
Stamp the splatter from Touches of Texture in Crumb Cake onto Very Vanilla
Apply a strip of the narrow Washi Tape
Lay a piece of the Copper Trim above the Washi Tape fraying one end a bit
Cut the branch from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits an layer over Washi (I trimmed it a bit)
Add a stretched and frayed piece of Copper Mesh Tape so it    will lay behind the leaf
Attach a looped length of Linen Thread
Stamp greeting in Tuxedo Black ink
Cut solid leaf from Copper Foil Sheet, the open leaf from Champagne Foil Sheet, tie together with Linen Thread bow
Attach Leaf set with Stampin' Dimensionals
Attach 5 sequins with Tombow adhesive

I hope you have fun as much fun playing with the foil and metallics as I did!  Thanks for looking at my project.

Bicycle bicycle bicycle . . . I want to stamp my bicycle

My apologies to Queen for adapting their lyrics.  When I saw the Bike Ride Bundle in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog I thought of that song "Bicycle Race".  Then, I thought it would be the perfect set to make the occasional card for my daughter who is an avid biker.  This is what I came up with recently.

The card base is Lemon Lime Twist.  I used Shimmery White Card Stock for the card front.  I did a little watercolor wash to give the illusion of sky and grass, Shimmery White holds up to watercolor so well! I thought the widest roll of Washi  tape from Pick a Pattern Washi Tape made a perfect base to ground the bike.  I used a scrap of Silver Foil Paper for the "aluminum" basket.

I made this card for my daughter, she loves reading even more than biking so adding the stack of books was a must.  No fussy cutting on this because their are so many detailed dies in the Build a Bike Framelit set.  There is even a die that is emboss only, the pebble die seen here.  I didn't use it but it would be great for grounding the bike.

When I had it all together I thought the background needed something so I stamped some little starbursts using a stamp from Colorful Seasons.  I put Wink of Stella directly on the stamps thinking it would add a subtle pattern.  I don't like this at all, the detail of the stamp was lost and it looks gray and messy to me.  Alas, I was out of time so I didn't redo it.  On the other hand, I do love the Rhinestones on the wheel hubs.

Thanks for looking, I hope I've inspired you to send a card to someone you care about today!

Watercolored Painted Harvest Birthday

Did I mention that I love this new set, Painted Harvest, available in the Holiday Catalog?  It didn't even make my list when I placed my preorder and now it's one of my favorites!

For this card I tried a watercolor technique.  I spritzed  a watercolor panel with water and also spritzed the inked stamp before putting ink to paper.  I used Crushed Curry for the larger petal stamp and Peek-a-boo Peach for the smaller petal stamp.    The center is Early Espresso and I used Early Espresso ink for the greeting as well.

The stem and leaves were stamped with Pear Pizazz spritzing the stamp after inking and before putting to paper.  Make certain the watercolor paper is completely dry before stamping the greeting.  I used the Happy Birthday greeting from Butterfly Basics.  It's one of my favorites, I love the mix of fonts.

I finished it of by adding some splatters.  I used my Aqua Painter with a lot of water dipped in some Early Espresso ink (squeeze your closed ink pad to get some ink on the lid and use that ink).  I distressed the edges of the watercolor panel, mounted it to a Crushed Curry layer and that went onto a Thick Whisper White card base.  Oh, I also tied on some Linen Thread and tied a bow.

It was a fun card to make!  I gave it to my mom for her birthday and she loved it!  The best thing is that I was able to give it to her in person.  She was visiting me on her birthday.  Not sure that has happened...ever!

Thanks for looking.  Hope you enjoy my projects!

Painted Harvest in Sepia

I did not initially order the set Painted Harvest but I've seen so many beautiful cards I had to get it.  It just arrived and I couldn't wait to play.  No, Stampin' Up! doesn't have a new color called sepia but this color combo made me think of a vintage photograph in sepia.

In real life the colors are a bit more muted.  I used Soft Suede and Memento Tuxedo Black for the flowers and leaves and stamped on a Whisper White panel. I used masks to give the flowers dimension. The leaves are stamped off once, otherwise I felt they were too dark.  I used the direct to paper method and dragged my Crumb Cake ink pad across the panel left to right, then right to left, top to bottom, and finally bottom to top.

I stamped the dots randomly all over, added 3 Gold Faceted Gems  and tied some Linen Thread onto one side

I added some shimmer to the centers using the Clear Wink of Stella, cause I love that pen!

The card base is Soft Suede and there is a Basic Black layer behind the white panel.

While I didn't use the coordinating punch for this project you can get the punch and the stamp set as a bundle and save some money!

Thanks for looking!  When you order this bundle (you know you want it) be sure to use my September Host Code7A7FWZ4W when shopping from my online store.  If your order is $150 in product you do not need to use it as you would qualify for Host benefits!

Happy stampin!
